Everyone should have a travel bucket list. If you don’t stop reading and get one started now!
A travel bucket list helps you focus and get your mindset on where you want to go. Unless you have a destination it’s hard to figure out how to get there, which if often sometimes where people get stuck… it’s where I recently got stuck.
So as a family we brainstormed some ideas of the places we wanted to go and/or experiences we wanted to encounter. Some are from the kids and some from us. All for different reasons or feelings of being drawn to these places around the world.
So in no particular order this is…
Our Family Travel Bucket List
- Pyramids of Giza, Egypt
- Safari in Serengeti, Tanzania
- Petra, Jordan
- Angkor Wat, Cambodia
- Niagra Falls, Canada
- Italy
- Koh Phi Phi Island, Thailand
- Taj Maha, India
- Sleep in a castle
- Boat ride down the Amazon River
- Walk Great Wall of China
- Route 66 Road Trip, USA
- Sunshine Coast, Australia
- Stonehenge, United Kingdom
- Disney Land or Disney World, USA
- Machu Picchu, Peru
- Ireland
- Go to a football game in Europe
- Angel Falls, Venezuela
- New Zealand
- Hot air balloon ride, Turkey
- Grand Canyon, USA
- Maldives
- Singapore
- Fly In Fishing Trip, Canada
- Galapagos Islands
I know for a fact this list will change, evolve and grow as the kids get older or we are inspired by something else. But, it’s a start to planning where we want to go as a family and the experiences we want to share together.
The only questions I have is – Will we run out of time before our kids have left the nest? Even if we checked one place off the list a year we would not have enough time before they move to their adult lives… it makes me a little sad to even think about it, but it’s reality.
Make the most of your travels and make it count with your kids.
What’s on your bucket list that we should add to ours?
