So what was the best travel experiences for The Passport Kids in 2015? At this time of year, I love to reflect on the year especially about our travels.
We spent the day with kids boogie boarding, swimming and exploring the beach and town. Ate tacos and drank some local beer on our beach towels, while watching the kids giggle with delight. We loved getting away from the resort and piling into a van for a little adventure that the kids. All the kids were so exhausted from a fun day that they all fell asleep on the way home. Great day!
Calgary & Banff, Canada
We were able visit with some really close friends that we haven’t seen for a while; and share some great days at Calgary Zoo and Calaway Park. We spent a few days in the Banff area walking around Banff, going up the gondola on Sulphur mountain, showing them the Bow Falls and had a fancy drink at the Banff Springs hotel… Aka the castle. The best line of the trip was from Luca as we drove into Banff National Park… “Where is all the snow?”; he has never seen the mountains in the summer!
Family Cabin, Canada
Both Jamie and I have had an extremely busy couple of years, with limited time off from our full-time jobs. So when I was able to take 3 weeks off this past summer and spend it with the kids at our family lake cabin, it was the most memorable for me. Jamie drove back and forth and was able to take some extended weekends, but mostly it was me and the kids. We spent lazy days fishing, throwing rocks in the lake, hunting for frogs and snails. We had some fun busy days going to the swimming pool, boating, tubing, wake boarding, going to museums close by and water parks. We spent most of our time at the beach, playing in the sand, at the playground and with the other “lake kids”. Some big memories too, Luca learned to ride a two-wheeler bike and lost his first tooth.
Looking forward to some new adventures in 2016!
Happy New Year everyone and all the best for 2016.
