Here is what we think the Best Travel Movies for families are.

Travel films are a great way to either get your kids excited about an upcoming trip, provide education, download to take with you on flights or long drives, provide inspiration, or allow you to escape with the movie as it transport you to another place.

All of these good family movies have some elements of travel to them; whether they have some great scenery based on their shooting locations or trigger the adventure of travel.

We’ve broken down the travel movies for all kids in two categories:

Family travel movies for younger kids: mostly animated travel movies, G-rated and good travel movies for the entire family
Family travel movies for tweens, teens and adults: more appropriate for older kids or adults but we’ve watched many of these with our younger kids .

Either one of these is a good family movie that will hit all the aspects of family time and great African Safari dreams.

Home Alone 2 – Lost in New York

This is a good movie for family who is thinking about visiting New York, especially in the winter or at Christmas.

Mary Poppins – Classic & New

These are both great movies for family time and exploring kids imagination on to have a little fun with movies.

Paddington

There is something nostalgic about Paddington bear and Marry Poppins in London. We loved all the aspects of all these films and makes us want to visit London every time. One of the best comedy family movies we’ve ever watched and we love it.

Night at the Museum Series

These are some of the best movies for family time and those who like a little bit of history and humour. Great for a family trip movie comedy central kinda folks!

One of the family trip movies classics with great scenery of Austria and vintage Europe.

National Treasure & National Treasure: Book of Secrets

For us, these moves are like time travel movies for kids since they flashback and create a sense of adventure for history for kids. These are good family adventure movies that are good for kids 6+ since they are not animated.

An action comedy travel that has great scenes in Budapest, Hungary which is one of our favourite places in Europe.
